Osiris $14875
Introducing the Rega Osiris flagship integrated amplifier
The Osiris is the culmination of Rega engineers 32 years experience in solid-state amplifier development. A no compromise audio amplifier using state of the art surface mount technology and a fully symmetrical circuit.
Design
A super high performance, 162 Watts into 8 Ohms (250 Watt 4 Ohms) dual mono amplifier housed in a custom Rega CNC machined aluminium case with high thermal efficiency heat sinks. Designed around “minimalist” high gain power amplifier and “passive pre-amplifier” circuit topology, a passive volume control and a single stage of power amplification between the input and the speakers the Osiris offers unrivalled performance and build quality.
Technology
The Osiris uses a low distortion high linearity and bandwidth common base voltage amplifier driver stage. This type of symmetrical circuit topology will provide the necessary voltage swings to enable the Osiris to drive any speaker system with the minimum of distortion. Eight Sanken 200 Watt output transistors are used in a “triple” high current output stage enabling the Osiris to drive even the most awkward of speaker systems with ease.
The cascoded differential input amplifier uses two low noise LED referenced current generators. The open & closed loop feedback levels and gain bandwidth product components are optimised to give a tight and controlled sound stage, especially at the low frequency end of the audio range. Nichicon audio grade capacitors are used in bypass and decoupling positions.
Electrolytic capacitors have been bypassed with polyester capacitors where necessary improving on the HF performance. Low inductance film SM power resistors are used in the output stage.
Power Supply
The Osiris uses two low noise purpose designed 400VA toroidal transformers using high-grade fully bonded core material.
The transformers are mounted to the chassis using Rega’s innovative mounting technique, which eliminates noise being transferred from the transformer to the case when the transformers are operating under arduous mains (line) conditions with high levels of asymmetric mains (line) distortion.
These transformers combined with 40,000 Micro Farads of Rega K-Power smoothing capacitors per channel, provide more than enough current to drive the hardest of loads. All the power supplies utilise fast recovery rectifier diodes throughout. (Fast diodes generate less high frequency switching noise therefore giving rise to a cleaner DC).
The input and low-level driver stages are fed from a regulated symmetrical tracking power supply with a low noise voltage reference, which provides a fully stabilised low noise voltage, ensuring the highest level of sonic purity.
All the dedicated audio power supplies feed only the audio circuits. The input switching, display & micro controller and protection circuits have their own dedicated supplies, keeping the audio signal path as pure as possible.

Brio R $1425
The Brio–R embodies all the necessary ingredients. Substantial toroidal transformer, generous power supply components, rugged output stage, the use of film capacitors in the signal path and at all critical positions within the phono amplifier.
New output amplifier
Developed by our engineers a newly designed output amplifier using a low source impedance emitter follower Class A driver stage. Based around a complementary pair of 150w Sanken Darlington output transistors, this combination forms a complementary emitter follower emulating Class A conditions with good thermal stability and lower standing currents in the driver stage.
Remote Control
Remote control has been added to the Brio-R without compromising the sonic design of the amplifier. This was achieved by keeping the remote circuit separate to the audio circuit and having its own dedicated power supply.
There is no direct contact between the micro-controller and the signal path, the micro-controller controls the relays whilst the volume control motor uses DC control voltages.
High quality components
The Brio-R utilises the highest quality components and our engineers’ experience to achieve the best sonic performance.
Ensuring it is the most advanced and feature packed Brio to date.
Improved power supplies
During the Brio-R design process Rega reviewed the circuit and improved the low and high current power supplies, coupling and bypass capacitors. The phono stage has been improved to reflect the current improvements in the Rega Planar turntables, where the input sensitivity has been increased along with a revision of the
sub 100Hz part of the phono frequency response.
Custom Case & Design
Housed in a brand new custom case the Brio-R draws on the pedigree of the previous three incarnations of this model.
The sonic recipe for the Brio-R embodies the best in traditional audio circuits with excellent engineering practice.

Mira 3 $1599
The Rega Mira 3 Amplifier is a high performance audio amplifier using the Improved “type 3” Rega Alpha-Encoder control system comprising of high quality loss-less relays, plus a digitally controlled analog switched resistor network volume control. The Mira 3 is housed in the Rega custom-built extruded aluminium case incorporating a high thermal efficiency heat sink. Rega has kept the same level of performance and synergy between stages as in the original Mira 2000 amplifier with a better level of functionality & controllability in the volume control user interface.
The Mira 3 is a 60 Watt integrated amplifier with full flexibility within the range. It has a Pre-amplifier output and Power amplifier input. The gain of the power amplifier is 28dB for full output, and thus enables the amplifier to be expanded to drive Bi-amplifier or active speaker systems (Sub Bass etc). It can also drive multiple speakers if required or be part of a high performance AV system.
The amplifier has a fully short circuit and DC protected output stage and high quality Evox film capacitors have been used in the signal path throughout.
Volume control
The volume level is controlled via a microprocessor, which in turn takes its information from the volume digital encoder on the front panel or remote control handset.
The volume control has a resolution of 1dB per step, giving a total range of 80 steps over the available gain or volume range of 80dB.
There is a calibrated LED display comprising of 20 LED’s, which indicates the gain level or relative position of the volume control; this is calibrated in 4dB steps, across the total gain of volume range. The left and right channels are matched and balanced within 0.2dB, ensuring a centrally placed soundstage no matter what the volume position or which gain level has been set.
The stepped resistive networks of the volume control are placed in the feedback and input circuits of the ic based line amplifier, thereby optimizing the gain of the line amplifier for a good signal to noise ratio. Also, the stepped resistive network provides the amplifier input with constant input impedance, providing the source component (CD, tuner, tape etc) with a constant impedance load and eliminating the possible changes in sound quality with different volume control positions.

EAR Headphone Amplifier $400
The new Ear Headphone Amplifier benefits from an all new extruded aluminium case and new styling giving it more of a family feel to match its illustrious big brothers.
The Ear simply connects to the tape output of an amplifier via phono leads, the headphones are plugged into the front panel and there is a link socket incase you need your tape output sockets for other use.
The new Ear is also available in a new alloy finish.
